Easy Spring Touches for Your Home

Finally, the days are longer, the weather is warming up, and Spring is right around the corner! It’s time to brighten up our spaces and let the sun in. When we think of Spring- we think about light colors: white, beige, muted pastels. The easiest way to incorporate these colors is through your home décor! Switching out your throw pillows and blankets with ones made of lighter materials and colors is quick, easy, and affordable. Blankets and throw pillows also allow you to add texture and prints to your space. We love soft floral prints, stripes, macramé and tassel detailing. We also love adding mirrors in order to help reflect light back into a space, and give the room a more spacious and brighter feel. Metals accents can also be changed out from colder season dark bronzes to a brass tone. Gilded metals like yellow gold or brass with reflective finishes will add a pop of warmth and brightness to your decor.  Here are some of our favorite brass accent pieces::

 Another great way to liven up your space is by switching out your curtains for a lighter fabric- consider using linen, which allows soft beams of light to shine through your home! Here are our favorite linen curtains::

Incorporate décor outside as well to mark the change of seasons and set the tone for what is to come inside your home. A fun way to do this on your front porch is through changing out your welcome mat and adding a Spring inspired wreath to your door. This will create a cohesive bright welcoming feel as your guests enter and leave your home.

In terms of flowers and greenery inside your home, consider switching out your winter evergreens for seasonal flowers. Our favorites are tulips and daffodils- we love the pop of color they bring into a space! Small bouquets will look lovely on your mantel, coffee table, kitchen counters, or create a larger arrangement of faux stems for a gorgeous and vibrant center piece on your dining room table. For bathrooms, we love adding touches of color and print with towels, soap dishes or dispensers, and baskets. Woven baskets are great for placing towels, and add a beachy coastal warm feel to any space. Since they also come in an array of sizes, patterns, and colors, you can find one to perfectly fit in any bathroom space. Candles are also a great option for decorating bathrooms and other spaces. Choose tones in lighter shades, and swap out winter scents of balsam and spices for lighter fragrances with floral notes. Here are some of our favorite woven coastal decor items for the Spring::

Rugs offer another fun way to bring a touch of spring into your home, as well as adding cohesion to any space design. Consider switching out thick heavy afghan or faux fur rugs for ones of more rustic materials such as jute or sisal in lighter tones and hues.
