My Daughter's Bedroom Refresh Reveal
As my daughter is getting older, I knew I wanted to refresh her bedroom to make it a space she could continue to grow into for years to come! when we first moved into our house and added on the upstairs edition, i wasn’t deep into the design world and really had no idea what i was doing, so just threw a room together for her. after living here for 5 years and knowing exactly what my design style is and my daughter’s personality as she gets older, i worked with avery to design a space that she will love for years and years to come!
thankfully we were able to use the existing bed, bookshelves and rug in her space. the rest we decided to update with the design. she has a strong love of horses (our family has three ponies and we all are obsessed with them!) so we knew we wanted to incorporate that in a subtle way throughout her room. i wanted her bedroom to feel refined with a classic feminine feel and a touch of vintage nostalgia- she is an old soul so this fits her perfectly.
as with any nine year old (i hope!), There were pieces along the way that we both were very head strong about, but we made compromises and were able to agree upon the final design. I love the personal touches that we added throughout such as the horse art prints above her bed and the framed Bible verse on her nightstand. We both absolutely LOVE how it has all come together and that we have created a relaxing sanctuary for her heading into her pre-teen and teenage years in the space. my favorite part is the unique feminine modern classic light fixture (oh and the dainty floral vine wallpaper!) avery’s favorite part (of course) is the vintage horse lamp, prints above her bed and the framed pictures of our ponies as you walk into the room.
