My Daughter's Big Girl Bedroom Design & Reveal :: Porche & Co.

PACKAGE SELECTION :: 2D VISION BOARD
ROOM CHOICE :: Girl’s Bedroom Design

OVERVIEW ::

The BIG REVEAL of my youngest daughter’s bedroom makeover is finally here! I previously shared the process of designing this space on my Instagram stories and the vision board when I first created it months ago. I’m so excited to finally share the reveal and real life pictures of her sweet bedroom space.

In case you missed it, my youngest daughter had been begging me to redo her room for a while, so we finally tackled the project as she was outgrowing much of her nursery decor. She turned 5 this December, so her room makeover made for the perfect birthday present!

I knew that I wanted to create a very feminine and timeless space that she would not outgrow. Literally, not outgrow. Because I am not redoing her room again…EVER 😂 Because of that, I decided that it was worth the money to invest in some timeless more grown up classic statement pieces for her room instead of items specifically crafted for children. Although she is only five, her room looks a little more grown up- which was intentional. I made sure to incorporate some child-like elements such as the corner swing for reading, cane wall bookshelves and step stool to reach up high on her bookshelf. She absolutely loves her new space and is sure to enjoy the space for many years to come.

My favorite part of her room is the gorgeous McGee & Co. wallpaper by William Morris, her simple but impactful natural wood canopy bed and of course the hanging rattan chair that she’ll spend a lot of time in. This hanging chair also comes in a natural wood color. The brass wall sconces stand out so nicely against the floral patterned wallpaper. The Rifle Paper Co. Folklore rug pulls in similar shades of gold and muted green.

I chose to do hand lettered calligraphy prints above her bed that read “How Beautiful you are, my darling. Song of Solomon 1:15”. The ETSY store and seller (PaperCaseStudio) are so talented- these came out so beautifully. I framed them with Framebridge in their Providence black and gold frame.

The nightstands are from Crate & Kids and are the perfect height for the mattress. I LOVE the unique muted green color that pairs wonderfully with the green tones in the wall covering. These exact ottomans are sold out, but here are some very similar ones. The knit throw blanket is a fantastic Target find. I couldn’t be happier with the weight and quality of this- it comes in numerous colors as well! The XO brass oversized letters on the side of her bed tie in with the brass sconces and curtain rod perfectly. The curtains are velvet for added texture and feminine softness. We needed privacy and blackout functionality in her bedroom so ordered custom linen roman cordless shades.

The cane bookshelves are handmade by a wonderful ETSY seller. These are also one of my favorite parts of her room! The large floor mirror is from Amazon and is such a wonderful size and price. The lumbar pillow on her bed is a very high quality thick metallic gold gilded linen. The striped blush linen 20x20 pillows are also from an ETSY store and are outstanding quality.

I placed a faux olive tree behind the rattan swing to add some welcoming liveliness into the space while pulling over the green floral wallpaper tones. This olive tree is one of my very favorites- we have 5 in our home! I placed it in a 10” blush/soft pink planter to bring in another subtle feminine accent.

One of her favorite parts is her new Beddy’s comforter. Not only does it add a bright feminine touch to the bed area, but it makes it so easy for her to make her bed alone every single morning- which is so important at her age! I have been recommending Beddy’s to my client’s ever since- this is a must for any child’s room for parents and kids alike! The one in my daughter’s room is the “Chic White (Minky)”.
