Emily’s RV Reno

Emily’s RV Transformation::

We are so excited to share Emily’s RV Reno and how she transformed this unique space into a home away from home! ‘Reno’ would be a stretch, as nothing in the RV went under construction or changed drastically. But Emily wanted to make sure this space had a cozy, homey feel to it and added designer touches throughout to ensure this warm feeling. The RV itself already had so many great and high end features, but Emily wanted to really add that designer touch and flair to make it their own! Below are some before and after shots of the RV before and after the “reno”::

About the RV::

Emily’s RV model is the Jayco Whitehawk 2022 29BH with the Farmhouse Package & Finishing. It can sleep up to 10 people with a double over double bunks, a full queen bedroom, and two pullout bed options. What made Emily fall in love with this model was all of the skylights, which let in so much natural light and help to make it feel much larger and brighter. The full bathroom and walk in closet space was also a plus! The kitchen area has all of the necessities: a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, sink, and pantry space! Emily is so happy with the model they landed on and how all of the design came together!

Hardware & Light Fixtures::

To add some warmth inside of the RV, Emily made some easy changes such as switching out the light fixture and the kitchen hardware. This is an easy and affordable way to make some impactful changes without spending a ton of money or having to do any major renovations or changes! Emily opted for brass hardware and fixtures in order to bring some more warmth to the space, as the black hardware and fixtures felt a little more cold and unwelcoming. You can use any fixture for an RV, but you MUST use 12V bulbs. We linked our favorite affordable 12V bulbs from Amazon. Pro-tip, be sure that you don’t select a fixture with glass in an RV because you risk it breaking with any bump (and there will be LOTS!)

Artwork::

We are firm believers in adding artwork to any and all spaces in order to bring in a vintage feel and touch, along with color and dimension! Artwork is also such an amazing way to add a personal touch to a room, bringing in certain colors or scenery that you love. Emily’s girls spend a lot of their time riding horses, so she brought in multiple pieces with horses to make it feel like home for them.

Kitchen Decor::

The kitchen space in the RV is on the smaller side, so Emily added some easy, practical touches that would be both functional and beautiful. She brought in some wooden cutting boards to layer against the backsplash which instantly add warmth and texture. She also brought in a neutral, striped rug for the space which adds some contrast and subtle pattern. Faux plants are always a necessity in every space, for the lively element they bring and pop of contrast and color! Emily also added some woven, textured bowls that could be used for fruit, storage, food, etc.

Dining Table Decor::

For the dining table, Emily wanted to add a simple centerpiece that could easily be moved off the table when needed since the space is smaller. This woven tray is so affordable and perfect for a dining table, kitchen island, coffee table, etc. She added simple decor pieces like one of our favorite wooden chains, a small faux plant, and a coffee table book. Emily also found these adorable acrylic games to keep in the RV for the girls to pull out and play!

Bedding & Throw Pillows::

Even though the bedroom spaces are small in an RV, throw pillows and bedding can make such a difference and add so much coziness to make it feel more like ‘home’! For the girls’ bunks, Emily opted for Beddy’s in order for it to be easy and functional when they are making their beds. These are perfect for kids’ bedrooms because they zip right up and it is so easy to do, even for younger kids. Emily has had these in her main home on her daughter’s beds for a few years now and they are just as obsessed with them today as they were from day 1. For the master bedroom, Emily chose coordinating Beddy’s along with a neutral, vintage, affordable quilt which instantly adds so much softness and warmth. She added various throw pillows throughout the bedrooms and living space which bring warmth and dimension with pops of greens and warm neutrals. The code PORCHE will take 15% off your purchase at Beddy’s!
