OVERVIEW ::
Designing the Exterior of this pool house was an absolute dream! It’s a new build, and we are so excited to get to be a part of it.
For paint colors, we recommended Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams or Wrought Iron by Benjamin Moore. They are both dark, inky, charcoal gray paint colors that are so beautiful on exteriors and will offer more character without looking too stark or cold. She already knew she wanted to have dark walls but didn’t know how to incorporate that whether it be vertical siding Borden Batten and how to incorporate some wood elements. We also suggested gorgeous black iron windows. These offer durability and make a nice statement.
To soften the entry, we recommended a black planter with grass or a tall shrub. Sconces will be placed on both sides of the door with a pendant centered above. The lanterns are hand made from pure copper. They lend a southern charm aesthetic, and their antique-finish and clear-coating add for a breathtaking appearance. The copper finishes in the lanterns will pair beautifully with the copper gutters. We recommend gas lanterns especially against black because it adds warmth and additional character to what could be a stark black house. The wood copper and stone against the black is what makes the house feel warm and cozy and not cold and stark.
The juxtaposition between the wood stained door and the dark paint color will be a beautiful statement. For the bottom skirt of the house, we suggested stone. This will help soften the look of all the black.
