FAQ’s on Emily’s Studio Woven Wood Shades
We get asked all of the time about what window treatments we recommend and what affordable options are out there. These woven wood shades are a personal and client favorite because of the added texture and warmth they bring! Emily has these shades in the studio and they have made such an impact in the space. We love to use these shades in our clients’ homes because they are so customizable to different needs and each space. We are going over our frequently asked questions about these shades and what we recommend down below!
What exact shades does Emily have in her studio?
Emily has the woven wood shades in the color ‘Bonaire Flaxen’. They are an inside mount, corded, and with no valence. Emily’s have a light filtering liner with no edge bining. Emily does wish that she opted for the cordless instead though!
Inside or outside mount? Valence or no valence? Cordless or corded?
We typically recommend an inside mount and no valence for a more cohesive, seamless look with the window frame! If you are looking to save money, corded is less expensive. However, if you have kids or pets, we highly recommend cordless! Motorized is also a great option to upgrade to in a bedroom or a space where you know you will be wanting to pull them down frequently.
What kind of liner do you recommend?
It depends on your space and what your lighting needs are! If you are using these shades in a bedroom, we would recommend the blackout privacy liner for extra darkness and privacy. If you are not necessarily needing the room to be dark, then you could opt for no liner at all or a light filtering liner like Emily has for some darkness.
What other customizable options are there?
There are so many options to customize these shades to your space! They offer different options for the cord in order to move the shades up and down - corded top down and bottom up, continuous cord loop, and cordless. In addition to that, they even have motorized options! If you do opt for a cord, you can choose which side the cord is placed on which is a nice option depending on the location of the window in the space. They also offer so many different colors and shades of the woven wood shades.
