How to style your console table :: Porche & Co. tips & tricks
You all have been loving our Porche & Co tips and tricks posts, so we wanted to share another one today that has been highly requested: how to style an entryway table. Often times, it’s the first thing you see when you walk into the home, so you want it to make a welcoming statement & first impression!
Tip 1: Focal Point
Start by choosing your focal point. If you have space for a large object to hang above your console table, this will create a focal point. You can use large artwork or a large mirror. We love to use mirrors to brighten up small spaces and to make it feel larger. Mirror are a great focal point in any space! We also love to use artwork that ties the various tones within a space together to create a really cohesive feel. We prefer to keep the artwork simple while still creating interest and a nice focal point. Stacked framed artwork or photographs can also create a nice modernized focal point.
Tip 2: Add dimension
Once you have your focal point, you can choose surrounding objects that will add height and dimension. Choose objects of varying heights to create depth and interest. This could be vases, lamps, stems, etc. We typically like to chose a lamp on one side and a vase with greenery/stems on the opposing side. Double lamps work well too if the space has additional lighting needs. One or two items (like many in our Home Decor Objects Shop) can also be layered in front of the larger main items to create additional dimension.
Tip 3: Layer
Layer the selected items and objects on your console table to add visual interest and complexity. This helps add more character, but be sure not to overcrowd. Too many items can look cluttered. At Porche & Co. we prefer to stick with simple more neutral items full of texture and dimension.
Tip 4: Add Storage & Warmth
You can add storage space by placing baskets underneath the console table! Pro Tip:: To add subtle texture and dimension to the baskets, drape a blanket over the side for added warmth.

Don’t stress- creating the perfect setup may take some rearranging and trying out various items. Don’t be afraid to take some risks and see how you like a setup you might not normally do. Remember, you are creating one of the main focal points in the room- it should be fun, personal and cohesive!
