OVERVIEW ::
How gorgeous is this living room that Mallory designed?! We absolutely love the warm tones and textures found throughout the design of this space. It creates such a warm and inviting feel that this family is sure to enjoy for years to come.
When designing the space, being a main room in their home, we wanted to keep the room full of brightness, texture and interest. The client already had wood and stone textures in this room so we wanted to create a soft contrast through bringing in some lighter whites/creams and leathers. We paired a white clean line sofa with a beautiful tan leather chair. The rug we selected to ground the space has both rust and blue tones which pairs perfectly with the colors found throughout the space.
On both sides of the fireplace are textured wrapped woven raffia consoles in a light gray color. Both have a large piece of neutral artwork a op that provides a bright contrast against the darker tones of the fireplace stone. In addition to decorative items and lamps that we incorporated into this design, we included 4 ottomans (two under each console) which further help to add additional texture and interest while providing additional seating options within the room.
A large round light wood coffee table is centered in the space and reflects the round nature of the existing chandelier perfectly. We added a faux fern plan for height and texture in the room as well as some stacked books with an object on top. On the right side of the sofa, a beautiful accent table in the same light wood tones as the coffee tables provides a subtle statement in the space. The accent table is topped with a ceramic base lamp in the same rust/brown tones found throughout the space which creates a balanced cohesive feel in the room. On the left side of the sofa, a beautiful hemp and metal magazine rack adds functionality and balances the other side table while not replicating the same set up on either side, creating interest.
