We had SO much fun over here at Porche & Co. designing multiple spaces in Jena’s gorgeous new build home (@JenaGreen920)! Her house is going to be full of classic elements with unexpected and unique twists throughout each space. It is going to be both enchanting and welcoming- full of timeless warmth and cohesive interest. She is taking the phrase “Pinterest worthy” to a new level and we are so blessed to be a part of it ❤️ We wrote a blog post last week about the other spaces designed in her home- you can read all about that here.
When designing Jena’s Master Bedroom, we wanted to achieve a timeless transitional look with interesting focal points found throughout the space for the eye to not only be drawn to, but also to rest on. The goal in this room was to create a welcoming, warm functional space. We filled the space with natural textures and muted warm neutrals that compliment the cooler black accents and natural tones found throughout. Jena loves boho influences so we were sure to incorporate some subtle boho touches throughout each space.
Jena is doing a really fun diagonal trim accent wall behind her bed. We selected a fun moody green paint color for this wall- either Farrow & Ball “Green Smoke” or Sherwin Williams “Pewter Green”. The black metal and glass nightstands and woven cane bed will create a nice soft contrast against the green wall color. The vintage-like oriental rug will ground the space with muted colors and dimension. The woven ottomans at the foot of the bed will provide functionality and help to soften the space. We chose oversized brass and wood sconces to be mounted above the nightstands to create functional mood lighting for reading and dimmable ambiance. The overhead circular brass gold chandelier will create a cohesive statement in the space and tie in nicely with the bedside sconces. The arched floor mirror will be the perfect try-on space for Jena while also reflecting natural light back into the space allowing it to feel larger and inviting. We selected a gorgeous simple but contrasting dove sketched framed artwork to be mounted above the dresser on the wall opposite the bed. The black frame on the artwork will tie in well with the metal base on the dresser.
